# Fyle vs Microsoft OneDrive

OneDrive is the default choice for many UK businesses: 1 TB plus Office from £5.40 per user, with a UK data region and an MCP server in preview. Fyle does not compete on price. It plans review of agent writes, full-size file access for agents and agent access that doesn’t need a Copilot licence.

Last checked: October 2026. Fyle is in development. Built so far: accounts, organisations with roles, two-factor sign-in, organisation security policies, and device sign-in for the desktop app and CLI. The drive, agent sessions and review are planned and not available yet.

## Where Fyle differs

- Fyle plans review of agent writes: changes based on an old version, or to protected folders, go to a named reviewer.
- Fyle plans no small per-file limit for agents.
- Fyle plans to work with any agent, such as Claude Code or Codex, through the mounted folder, a CLI or MCP, without a separate AI licence.

## Which to choose

### Choose Microsoft OneDrive if

- You already pay for Microsoft 365 and mainly need storage and Office.
- Copilot is your agent of choice.
- You need UK data residency today at the lowest cost.

### Choose Fyle if

- Your team uses agents other than Copilot, or several of them.
- Agents need to work with files larger than 5 MB.
- You want a person to approve agent changes before they land on shared files.

## Questions

### Does OneDrive have an MCP server?

Yes, in preview when we checked in October 2026. It needed a Copilot licence, and our research found an agent file limit of 5 MB. Microsoft described its MCP servers as previews not meant for production.

### Should a UK business use Fyle instead of OneDrive?

For storage and Office alone, OneDrive is cheaper and offers a UK region today. Fyle is for teams whose agents edit shared files and who want those edits reviewed. Fyle is in development; its UK-only workspaces are planned for Enterprise.

### Is Fyle available now?
