# Fyle for creators

**Your projects on every computer, and AI help you can undo**

Independent creators juggle footage, artwork, scripts and notes across a laptop, a desktop and sometimes an editor. Fyle is a desktop drive where your files open in the apps you already use, AI agents can help on the same files, and nothing they change is permanent.

## AI can help, but not at the cost of your originals

Asking an AI tool to rename hundreds of files, sort a shoot or tidy a script folder is useful until it changes something you didn’t want changed.

Working across machines also means copies drift: the version on your laptop isn’t the one on your desktop, and a sync tool leaves a conflicted copy behind.

## How Fyle fits

Available now:

- Two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app, which an organisation can require for everyone. (Available now)
- Device sign-in for the desktop app and CLI: approve a short code in the browser, with no password typed into a terminal. (Available now)

Planned:

- One drive in Finder or File Explorer on every computer; files download when you open them. (Planned: desktop launch)
- Run an agent with `fyle agent claude` and it works in its own session: you see a summary of what it changed when it finishes. (Planned: agent layer)
- Every version is kept and can be restored, including anything an agent changed. (Planned: desktop launch)
- Personal plan for one person with 1 TB included; more storage can be added. (Draft, not on sale)

## An agent at work

The agent reads the clip names and metadata, creates scene folders, moves the clips and writes a shot list. Moves are metadata only, so nothing is re-uploaded.

```
$ cd ~/Fyle/channel/episode-41
$ fyle agent claude --task "Sort the raw clips into folders by scene and write a shot list"
Session ended · 2 changes
  shot-list.md                               new
  raw/ (212 clips moved into scene folders)  modified
All changes landed. Every earlier version can still be restored.
```

Illustration of a planned workflow. Names are examples; commands and output may change before release.

## Your work stays yours

- Every version records whether you or an agent session made it, which helps show how a piece of work developed.
- Agents can only reach the folders you give them, for as long as the session runs (planned).
- Two-factor sign-in protects the account that holds your back catalogue; it is available now.

Not legal advice. Fyle features mentioned here are planned unless marked available now.
