Reviews

When a change can't land on its own, Fyle keeps it as a branch and a person decides: keep the current version, take the change, or keep both. Rules decide who reviews what.

Last updated

When a change needs review

  • It was based on an older version. Someone saved a newer one meanwhile, so applying it would overwrite their work.
  • A policy says so. For example, an agent editing a file a person owns (Policies → Agents).

A save with exactly the same content as the current version needs no review: it's already there.

Deciding

Open Reviews in the dashboard. Each review shows who made the change (and which agent session), why it's waiting, and the current version against the change: a line diff for text, side by side for images.

Take the change
It becomes the current version. Refused if the file changed again after you opened the review, so you never overwrite something you didn't see.
Keep both
The change is saved as a copy next to the file, named like report (branch v4).pdf.
Keep current
Nothing changes; the branch stays in the file's history.

Decisions are final and recorded with your name and an optional note. From a terminal: fyle review ls, fyle review diff ID, fyle review decide ID take.

Who reviews: review rules

Each workspace has Review rules (next to Files and Trash). The first rule that matches the changed file's path decides; with no match, owners and admins review.

Example rules
PathChanges fromWhen it matches
renders/AgentsAsk the Art leads group
**/*.psdAgents and peopleAsk Ana
scratch/Agents and peopleTake the newest change automatically

Paths start at the workspace root: renders/ is the folder and everything in it, * is any name, ** any depth. Use Test a path to check which rule applies. Automatic rules (take the newest change, or keep the current version) decide at once; every version stays in history.

Notifications

Reviewers get an email with a link to the review, and a reminder if it's still waiting after a day. Owners and admins can change a review's reviewers; people added get the email.
