Compare Fyle

Fyle is a desktop drive where people and AI agents work on the same files, and nothing an agent changes lands on a person’s file without review. These pages compare it with the products people ask us about most. Each one says where the other product is stronger, when to choose it, and links every claim to its source.

Last checked: October 2026. Fyle is in development. Built so far: accounts, organisations with roles, two-factor sign-in, organisation security policies, and device sign-in for the desktop app and CLI. The drive, agent sessions and review are planned and not available yet.

Agent-native file layers

Branches, forks and approvals for agents. Mostly SDKs and mounts rather than a drive for people.

Streaming drives and mounts

Cloud storage on the desktop as a drive. Mature for people, with little for agents.

Version control for large files

Branches and reviews for binaries, built around code, games and media pipelines.

Mainstream drives

Sync and share, with MCP servers added over the cloud API.

Enterprise file platforms

Hybrid and business content platforms sold to IT, with locking and snapshots.

Facts about other products come from our October 2026 review of 50 file, storage and agent tools; each comparison links to the page every fact was taken from. Prices are as published, in the vendor’s currency.
