Where Mountain Duck is stronger

  • Works on Mac and Windows today.[1]
  • Mounts storage you already have, including S3 and SFTP.[1]
  • Your data stays wherever your storage is, so residency is your choice.[1]

Where Fyle differs

  • Fyle plans a coordinator that keeps immutable versions and records who or which agent made each one.
  • Fyle plans agent sessions, an MCP server and review, which a plain mount doesn’t provide.
  • Fyle plans Linux as well as macOS and Windows.

Which to choose

Choose Mountain Duck if

  • You want a desktop mount for S3 or SFTP storage you already run.
  • You don’t need shared versions, attribution or review.
  • A per-seat desktop licence suits you better than a subscription with storage.

Choose Fyle if

  • Several people and agents write to the same files and you need versions and review.
  • You need to know which agent changed which file.
  • You also need Linux.
