Fyle vs Nasuni

Nasuni is an enterprise hybrid cloud file platform with edge caching, an MCP server for SMB shares, locking and snapshots, and it now owns Resilio. It is sold to IT departments with large installed bases. Fyle plans branching and human review for agent changes, and plans to sell to teams as well as enterprises.

Where Nasuni is stronger

  • A large enterprise installed base, with edge caching for distributed sites.[3]
  • An MCP server for SMB shares.[2]
  • Peer-to-peer sync from Resilio, which it acquired.[3]

Where Fyle differs

  • Fyle plans branches instead of locks: agents never wait on a lock, and a stale save goes to a reviewer.
  • Fyle plans self-serve Personal and Team plans as well as Enterprise.
  • Fyle plans agent sessions that record which agent changed which file.

Which to choose

Choose Nasuni if

  • You run many sites that need edge caching for an existing file estate.
  • Your IT team buys and runs file infrastructure centrally.
  • Locking and snapshots already meet your needs.

Choose Fyle if

  • Agents and people edit the same files, and you want edits reviewed rather than locked.
  • You want a team to start without an IT-led rollout.
  • You need per-agent attribution of changes.
